Small Businesses and Artists Gift Guide

Next weekend is Small Business Saturday and I am all about it! I’ve put together a small businesses and artists gift guide for all your small biz shopping needs. When you shop at a small business it supports cool independent makers, doing creative and inventive things. Speaking from personal experience (my husband works in a restaurant, and I work in a family-owned plant store) when you shop small, real people thrive! These are my favorite indie suggestions this year:

Worthwhile Paper- Worthwhile Paper is a collection of screen-printed paper goods for nature lovers. The best gifts are the wall art prints, and the enamel pins. All of Kristen’s artwork is made on earth-friendly paper.

Found+Formed– This is the vintage shop where I work! It’s run by three lovely women — Abigail, Carissa, and Rachel — and they ship vintage goodies anywhere. The shop specializes in 1960s-1990s vintage, plus handmade things from indie makers!

Made Jewelry A boutique studio of jewelry makers who create simple, original pieces for daily-wear. Profits made from these pieces help support non-profits that grow, give & share fresh food.

Earthware Ceramics – Jess creates beautiful mugs, jewelry displays, bowls, vases and other decor in natural color palettes.

Mind+Mineral – Brooke makes stained glass wall hangings, including custom designs. I personally love my agate and rainbow prism suncatcher. And her custom pet portraits in stained glass would make an especially sweet present.

Perennial – Jessie makes all kinds of tassel earrings, from big ass tassels to petite ass tassels. They’re handmade and come in a million different colorways.

Indie Bound – When you shop at an independently owned business, your entire community benefits. Indie Bound is a website that allows you to support independent bookstores with your purchases.

Jo & June – Jo & June is a beautiful vintage and decor shop and they do offer online shopping. But I think the best gift from their site is their stained glass peace signs, which come in a variety of sizes and natural colors.

Wild Yonder Botanicals– Kat and Greg have studied botanicals for 15 years and they make incredible personal care and beauty products, including bath salts, face masks, body oils, and more.

Sueko Sage – Gabriela Sage Hand Lettering & Designs makes minimal, modern art prints, journals, ornaments, and totes.

ABLE Shoppe – Liv is an artist and stylist. She loves interiors, design, thrifting, and ethical brands and ABLE Shoppe is a curated collection of vintage, recreated, & handmade garments. ABLE shoppe’s collection is carefully handpicked and unique.
